Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio she left high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) alongside her. Grace decided to leave the show in order to focus on her film career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She has appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she appeared in Season 6 of Californication. She portrays Faith who is both the star-gazer and a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is part of the Gyllenhaal clan and the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in the films of her father as an adolescent. Together with her brother she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) that earned their Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. In recognition of her role as a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Then, she went on to star in comedies as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and Will Not Back Down (12). Other roles she has played include a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she received The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
