Audrey Justine Tautou (born Audrey Justine Tautou) is an French model and actor. She gained fame through her role as the shy, eccentric waitress Amelie who was awarded numerous prizes. Tautou has been compared with Audrey Hepburn, due to the combination of attractiveness, charismatic acting and talent. Though she was born into an educated family with dark hair, her mother and father were both teachers and dentists. The acting profession was not the first task she ever planned to pursue. In high school, she was bitten by the acting bug that eventually led her to pursue a career as a professional actress. She took acting classes at Cours Florent, and then landed a role on the TV movie Coeur de cible. Venus Beauty Institute gave her the opportunity to create her first feature film. She was well received because of it. She's an actress who's daring who likes to try out various characters. Her films range from Amelie, a romantic comedy, to Dirty Pretty Things, a thriller. France native, she starred in French films for a few months prior to making her Hollywood debut in the role of Tom Hanks.
