Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. By the age of ten she had performed and taken as the main character in several Stagecoach shows and school productions. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in the year 2001. The film broke all records on opening day and weekend numbers, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film has been praised by critics for its film and the performance by three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Then Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in the Feature Film.
